Three apps, one system
Beside the till: the launcher that connects a waiter's phone to a terminal, the waiter app at the table, and the Manager app for the owner. Here is how they work and how to set them up.
The demo videos are in Hungarian.
Before you start: one window, two codes
Both apps take their codes from the till's System Info window: click the Hydra POS logo in the top bar. The codes appear after the till's first Hydra Admin check-in, so connect the till to the internet first.
- Waiter app pairing
- Venue ID and Pairing code — the waiter pairs with these in the launcher.
- Manager app access
- Venue ID and Access code — the owner adds the venue with these in the Manager app.
The two codes are not interchangeable. They are derived from the venue ID, so replacing a till or a computer does not change them.
Waiter launcher
The waiter's way in on their phone. You pair it with the venue once; after that it lists the venue's tills and takes the waiter to the chosen terminal's app with one tap. The terminal used last is always on top.
- One-time pairing with the venue ID and the pairing code
- All of the venue's tills in one list, the last one used first
- Orders travel over the local network to the till, even without internet
Setup, step by step
- 1On the till, click the Hydra POS logo: System Info opens.
- 2In the Waiter app pairing block, copy the Venue ID and the Pairing code.
- 3On the phone, open the launcher, enter both and press Pair.
- 4Pick the till from the list — the one used last is on top.
- 5The launcher hands you to the waiter app: enter your PIN and start taking orders.
Order and pay at the table
A waiter's phone or tablet becomes an order pad: table map, menu, sending to the kitchen and the bar, payment — all over the local network, connected to the till.
- A colour-coded table map: who is about to pay, whose food is late
- Categories, search, sizes and extras — like on the till
- Sending to the kitchen is one tap: kitchen and bar each get their own ticket
- Paying at the table, by item if needed: cash, card and SZÉP recorded, charge to a room or service account with the guest's name shown
- If the Wi-Fi drops, taps queue up and are never applied twice when it reconnects
Setup, step by step
- 1On the till, create a PIN for the waiter: Manager screen, Waiters & Managers.
- 2Pair the phone with the launcher (see above), or open the till's IP address with port :3005 in the browser.
- 3Sign in with your own PIN: the table map appears.
- 4Tap a free table, take the order and send it to the kitchen.
What you need
- The phone and the till on the same network, with port 3005 open between them
- A PIN for every waiter
Card payments happen on the waiter's own card terminal; the app records that it was paid, and the receipt prints at the till.
Live trading, from anywhere
The owner's window onto the venue: today's revenue, guests, orders and voids live, from outside the network too — and on one phone, all of your venues.
- Today's revenue and trend against yesterday, hour by hour
- Payment methods, best-selling items and each waiter's performance
- Orders in active, closed and void views
- Several venues on one phone, switch with one tap
- Alerts for a large void and the daily close — if you switch them on
Setup, step by step
- 1On the till, open System Info (click the Hydra POS logo).
- 2In the Manager app access block, copy the Venue ID and the Access code.
- 3In the Manager app, choose Add venue and enter the two values.
- 4Press Add — within a few minutes you see the trading live.
The till only sends data while you are actually watching the app, so the home screen can be empty for the first minute. Access is read-only and stays valid for 180 days on the same phone.
Open the Manager appFrequently asked questions
I can't see the codes in System Info.
The till has not checked in with Hydra Admin yet. Connect it to the internet, wait for the next check-in and reopen the window.
The waiter app can't find the till.
The phone and the till are not on the same network, or port 3005 is blocked between them. Put them on one network and open the port.
Pairing works, but the waiter can't sign in.
No PIN has been created, or the wrong one is entered. Create one in the Waiters & Managers section and enter it again.
The Manager app is empty.
Give it a minute or two: the till only sends data while someone is watching. If it stays empty, check the licence and the Hydra Admin connection.
